Night Bus

A free night service bus is in operation for shift workers with no other means of transport to cross the river outside of the shuttle bus hours (6am – 8pm), seven days a week.

Pick-up and drop-off locations are on the south of the river at South Tyne Street, Jarrow and on the north at Tyne View Terrace, Howdon.

Anyone applying for the service should be able to comply with the following statements ‘I use the tunnels to get to and from work outside of the shuttle bus hours… I have no alternative forms of transport or different routes available to me when the tunnels are closed.
