Lift out of service (Update 5pm Wednesday 20 July)
The south side lift is proving unreliable in the extreme weather conditions this week and is currently out of service. We have had engineers out to repair the lift several times in the last 48 hours but a permanent resolution is still difficult at this time.
We have therefore made a decision to keep a replacement bus service in operation and close the tunnels until the lift is fully operational.
Until further notice the bus service with cycle trailer is in place and the tunnel is closed to pedestrians and cyclists. The bus service will operate between 6am-10pm.

Outside of these times users should make alternative travel arrangements.
