Tunnels Open for Cyclists and Pedestrians (Update 1pm Wednesday 20 July)
Due to the unprecedented heatwave, the South side lift has been subject to an intermittent fault which we know is frustrating for regular users of the tunnels.
Engineers have been onsite this morning and have now put the south side lift back into service. The lift is now open for pedestrians and cyclists to use.
As a precaution, we are leaving the replacement bus in operation until 10pm this evening working to the attached timetable. This bus is free to use. Please see the pickup points map showing the locations.
We will provide an update if there are any further developments.
